Ocean Pearl is our most hotel-like stay in the line-up: 26 rooms with ocean-view balconies, a rooftop infinity pool for the post-dive float, and Raskuri, its in-house restaurant serving indoors or on the roof — with breakfast from 6 AM, which matters more than any amenity list when the boat leaves early. AIG Grand sits on the north side of the island, away from the harbour noise, and plays its strongest card at golden hour: a rooftop infinity pool with open ocean and sunset views, and a multi-cuisine restaurant you can take on the ground floor or up on the roof. Hikers Villa is the one stay with its feet actually in the sand: private beach area, sea-view suites and rooms including a King Suite with a spa bath and an open-air bath on site. There's a small wellness centre with occasional yoga and fitness classes, and karaoke nights, a (non-alcoholic) bar, and a kitchen that ranges from local Maldivian to Thai, Middle Eastern and high tea. Tiny, beachfront and staff-obsessed (guests rate the team 9.5) — the recovery option for divers who want the ocean outside the door, a local team to take care of them and a soak after three tanks.
