How many days do you need in Fuvahmulah? Five nights is the minimum that does the island justice, seven is the sweet spot, and ten is the photographer's cut. Those aren't arbitrary numbers — they're the shape of our three packages (Liquid Five, Liquid Seven, Liquid Ten), each built around the same daily rhythm: one tiger dive plus two further sites, every dive day, with flights, hotel and transfers included.

Here's each Fuvahmulah itinerary laid out day by day, with real prices and honest advice on which one is yours.

First, the constants (every trip, every tier)

The daily rhythm: up to 3 dives a day — dawn or morning specialty dive (threshers, hammerheads in season), the Tiger Harbour tiger dive, and a wall/reef/channel dive. Afternoons for naps, cafés, editing photos, island wandering.

What's always included: return MLE↔FVM domestic flights, airport and boat transfers, hotel with breakfast, fins/mask/wetsuit, and all your dives across our 20 sites. One booking, one number, no surprises — the full cost anatomy is here.

The pricing axes: your hotel (four partner options) and your group size — Solo, Buddy (2), or Pack (3). Two friends make every price below noticeably kinder.

The golden rule: no flying for 18–24h after your last dive — every itinerary below already respects it.

Liquid Five — 5 nights / 9 dives · from $1,250 pp

The focused strike. For divers short on leave who refuse to skip the tigers.

Day 1 — Arrive. Malé → Fuvahmulah (domestic hop), transfer, gear check, island exhale. Early night. Day 2 — Ease in. Reef warm-up dive to shake off travel, then your first tiger dive. (Yes, day two. Why wait?) Two dives, one changed human. Day 3 — Full rhythm. Dawn specialty dive · tiger dive · afternoon wall. Three dives, three worlds. Day 4 — Full rhythm II. Same skeleton, different sites, different sharks. 9 dives complete by sunset. Day 5 — Surface day. No-fly buffer becomes island day: Thoondu beach, freshwater lakes, cafés, souvenir tuna jerky. Fly out light-headed with stories, not nitrogen.

Honest verdict: brilliant, and always slightly too short. Nobody has ever left after Liquid Five saying "that was enough tiger sharks."

Liquid Seven — 7 nights / 15 dives · from $1,830 pp ← the sweet spot

The one we recommend to friends. Enough time for every headline species, weather insurance included by design.

Day 1 — Arrive. Flights, transfer, briefing, sleep. Day 2 — Warm-up + first tigers. Reef dive, then Tiger Harbour. Evening: everyone talks too fast at dinner. Days 3–6 — The full engine. Four days of the triple rhythm: dawn threshers/hammerheads (in season), daily tiger dive, afternoon walls and channels. 15 dives fill up with every species the calendar is currently serving. One of these afternoons, skip a dive on purpose — sunset at the harbor is part of the itinerary too. Day 7 — Surface day. Island, café, photo editing, that second visit to Thoondu. Day 8 — Fly home a different diver.

Why it's the sweet spot: seven nights gives you five full dive days — enough for a slow morning, a big-animal repeat, one "conditions say no" day without panic, and a proper goodbye to the tigers.

Liquid Ten — 10 nights / 23 dives · from $2,470 pp

The immersion. For photographers, shark people, and anyone who's flown 12 hours and intends to make it count.

Days 1–2 — Arrive + ease in as above. Days 3–9 — The long rhythm. Seven potential dive days. This is where Fuvahmulah stops being a trip and becomes a routine: you'll know individual tigers by sight, have a favorite café order, and finally nail the thresher shot that needs five attempts. Fold in a course (Deep Specialty: 2 dives + one academic session) or a photo mentorship day with Sina without sacrificing anything. Day 10 — Surface day. By now the island knows your name. Day 11 — Home, reluctantly. 23 dives deep.

Honest verdict: the best value per dive and the trip that produces portfolios and repeat guests. Ten nights is how Fuvahmulah gets under your skin permanently.

Which one is yours? (60-second guide)

• Limited leave / testing the water: Liquid Five
• First proper Fuvahmulah trip / want every species a fair shot: Liquid Seven
• Photographer / want courses inside the trip / recovering maximalist: Liquid Ten
• Traveling as 2–3 friends: any tier — but check Buddy/Pack prices; the difference funds several very nice dinners
• In season for something specific (threshers, hammerheads, mantas): Seven or Ten — dawn dives need repeat attempts

FAQ: planning a Fuvahmulah trip

How many days do I need in Fuvahmulah? Minimum 5 nights (3 dive days), ideally 7 (5 dive days). Under five, flights eat your ratio — you'll spend nearly as long traveling as diving.

Can I combine Fuvahmulah with a resort or Malé stay? Easily — many guests add beach days north before flying south to us. Just put the diving first chronologically if you can, so the no-fly rule never costs you a resort day. Getting here, explained.

When should I book for high season (Dec–Apr)? Two to four months ahead; more for Christmas/New Year and the March–April manta window. Small groups are the product — capacity is genuinely finite.
